One thing I was thankful for was that we were back in time to celebrate the 4th on U.S. soil. I’ve always loved this holiday for whatever reason and was excited to share some of the traditions of cheesy parades, cookouts, fireworks, etc. with my kids. It was an “all American” kind of day and that’s exactly what we needed. 
I grew up every year coming to Dick and Jimmie Sue’s 4th of July bash. For me, the 4th was always about the swimming pool. I’m thankful they still open up their home every year and that my kids got to spend the day splashing away like their momma always did!
