Another thing I loved while we were back in the states is that we decided to make Tuesday night our families fun night going out to dinner. It seemed like a lot of restaurants offered specials on Tuesday nights, so we went with it. The chick-fil-a nearest our house had character greetings the first Tuesday of each month. It was random, but fun…
Also, when we arrived my brother presented us with a very generous gift. He knows how much I love Rudy’s bar-b-que and the owner of Rudy’s happens to attend his church, so he gifted us with $150.00 of free food! That’s why you would regularly find us dining there!
Freebirds offered a free kids meal for every adult burrito (or meal) purchased. Plus, if you get their frequent diner card, after ten burritos you get one free. All we could say to this was, “heck yes.”
Another Tuesday night favorite was Double Dave’s pizza where they offered bogo pizza rolls. If we were willing to drink water, our whole family would eat well for under 10 dollars! Where we got sucked dry of our cash was the kids begging for money for the arcade games. It was worth it though knowing they were having a good time!
Our other favorite spot during our time in Texas was Jason’s Deli. Not sure how I left town without any pictures from there, but alas…you’ll just have to picture how happy we all were with our healthy dinners topped off with free ice-cream! Our time in Texas was so unstructured that I think we all cherished this little bit of stability on the calendar. I know if we moved back there, our schedules would even out, but I still think we’d carry on this tradition. It was super fun!

Such wonderful memories. We are visiting our missionary family in Vienna. Funny…I’m looking forward to the treats of German food. Coming back after the visit, I will wish I could bring those treats with me…I will not long for American food for a while. Then it will be Jason’s Deli with free ice cream! Our visit is in Feb. Before we leave, we’ll have some Chick-fii-A inyour honor!!
